A dripping tap, a tired light fitting, a socket that needs swapping — the small jobs that aren't worth a big call-out fee. I handle minor, non-notifiable work safely across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire, and I'm always straight with you about what's a job for a registered specialist.
Level 2 Electrical Installations qualified
I'm Level 2 qualified in Electrical Installations, so the minor, non-notifiable jobs above are done properly and safely. But some electrical work in kitchens, bathrooms and gardens, new circuits, consumer-unit (fuse board) changes and gas work are notifiable jobs that legally need a registered electrician, Gas Safe engineer or qualified plumber. I won't ever pretend otherwise — if your job falls into that category, I'll tell you honestly and can recommend a trusted local specialist to get it done right and certified.
Under Part P of the Building Regulations, certain electrical jobs must be carried out or certified by a registered electrician. "Non-notifiable" jobs — like swapping a light fitting or socket for a like-for-like replacement — don't require that, and are exactly the sort of small job I help with.
In most cases, yes — a dripping tap, a leaking trap or a worn washer are everyday jobs. If it turns out to be something bigger behind the wall, I'll let you know and point you to a plumber I trust.
I'm an experienced, fully-insured handyman who handles minor, non-notifiable work safely. For notifiable electrical work, gas, or larger plumbing installations you'll want a registered specialist — and I'm always happy to recommend one.
Send a photo and I'll tell you honestly whether it's one for me — and give you a price if it is.
